Brad Fritsch has been one of the most consistent rookies this year on the PGA tour.

His 4 out of 5 cuts made and accumulated $208,900 in winnings is good enough to move him up 2 spots in the reshuffle. He now sits 11th on the list.

He will need to continue his good play to improve upon his ranking at the next reshuffle...(April 7 after the Valero Texas Open).

I looked at the 10 players ahead of Brad in the current standings. Of the 10, 3 players have made it because of 1 outstanding performance:

David Lingmerth (P2 at Humana giving him $492,800 of his $526,008 in earnings) with 2 missed cuts out of 4 attempts.

Scott Langley (T3 - Sony Open giving him $324,800 of his $338,515 in earnings) with 2 missed cuts out of 4 attempts.

Patrick Reed (T7 - AT&T Pebble giving him $209,625 of his $234,635 in earnings) with 3 missed cuts out of 5 attempts.

Brad could surpass Reed and Langley by the next reshuffle if he continues his strong consistent play.

The other 7 players ahead of Brad have better made cuts percentages and have earned their winnings through more consistent performance...James Hahn being the epitome of that statement.

Looking below Fritsch to see who may press him for position, it looks like Matt Jonesposes the biggest threat. His 3 out of 4 cuts made have given him OWGR points in each cut made. He does not have a round over 72 when making a cut. That is consistency.

Looking ahead at the tournaments accessible to Brad we have:

1. Honda (he's playing)
2. Puerto Rico Open (opposite field tournament)
3. Tampa Bay Championship
(I skipped the Arnold Palmer invitational...he won't get in without big day at Tampa).
4. Shell Houston Open
5. Valero Texas Open

So...if Brad can get similar results in the next 5 tournaments, I think he can move up 3-4 positions in the reshuffle rankings, not to mention continue on his quest to maintain his PGA tour card.

You are welcome...after all, he is from my neck of the woods. I am sure I was a shining mentor for him. He would be able to watch me play at the local courses and know instantly what not to do to become a professional golfer... ;)

Wasn't one of the spots gained because Russel Henley won and so automatically became exempt? I could be wrong that spot might have been taken into account.
@Krazie I am glad I don't have tv station :D

I believe Fritsch was #14 and moved up to #13 after Henley won. Moving up to #11 after this first reshuffle could help Fritsch in the future. I'm sure I read that the first reshuffle was the Monday the week of the Masters, however, maybe that was last years information.

To answer your comment on the next reshuffle date...it is the Valero per the PGA tour's own list... follow the link...http://www.pgatour.com/news/2013/01/01/reshuffle.html

Here is a spreadsheet I prepared to track Brad's progress through this current reshuffle. Matt Jones and Eric Compton moved ahead of Brad, while Nicholas Thompson, Patrick Reed and Justin Hicks stayed ahead of Brad with slightly better results. Robert Streb had a T18 finish to help him get within $53k of Brad...

Note the current position that counts is the reshuffle position after the WGC last week. The numbers I am reporting on are ongoing numbers that will count eventually only after the Valero Texas Open...Brad will continue to be 11th on the priority list until then.

cool spreadsheet, krazy ... that should make it fun to follow.

btw, you may recall who GDL's playing partner was on Sunday? none other than Darron Stiles, who did quite a bit better than Fritschy ... check out #36 on your list. ;)

Oh, oh - you're not pointing out something that is not 100% correct here Jim, are you? Teaching Krazy that people actually pay attention to what is posted.... ;)
