The Web.com Tour opens their season this coming Thursday in Panama at the Panama Claro Championship in Panama City. As he revealed in the youtube video, Adam Hadwin announced that he would not be playing in this event but would wait until the following week in Columbia.

Two Canadians will play in Panama. Richard Scott secured his spot on the tour by finishing in the top 60 on the money list while Roger Sloan secured his spot through qualifying for his card at the last Q-School in the fall of 2012. Too early yet for tee times.

Brad Fritsch finished T7 in this tournament in 2012 to successfully kick off his season and his efforts to gain a PGA playing card for 2013.

I realize this a "none" tour week here and in the EU (Asian tour as well??) but this field is as strong as I have seen on this tour outside of the Q-school week. So is this a result of the re-alignment as well? If that is so it will add to the Web tour it could be even more fun to follow this year. At first I was not so sure about all the changes but they are looking better as time goes on (and I learn more as well).

Not sure of the number, but PGA players outside 125 on the money list have some status on the Web.com Tour. There haven't been any changes this season nor any realignment. Changes start in the fall of 2013. Fields in 2012 aren't any different than this year. This is a quality tour that plays on golf courses that are slightly less competitive than PGA courses. Hope you enjoy the ride following these guys cause they are very good.

interesting that the Tuesday Tour Update says that there are no Canadians entered in the Panama Tournament. Richard Scott was born in Windsor, Ontario where I live. And Roger Sloan is a good ole BC lad. Hmmmm. Does that mean the the IMG people really don't know a Canadian when they see one???

I may be wrong but the changes according to the web site start this week there will 50 cards up for grabs 25 after the regular schedule and then 25 more in a 4 week 4 tournament playoff it sort of looks the same but if you get in after the first go around can you play 4 more times after to improve that or do they start with a clean slate for the players that did not finish top 25 confusing but then  the FEDEX cup is still confusing ;)
