2013 Masters-Day 2

Today was a tough day at the office for me. It certainly did not go as well as I planned.
When I woke up, my ribs felt a bit tight - probably from playing the first 18 holes in some time a day earlier. I went to the course and tried to get the therapists to loosen things up but I couldn't seem to get loose no matter what they did.
Things didn't start well. On my first swing of the day, I felt my ribs and it resulted in my tee shot veering left and onto the ninth hole. I actually made a number of nice saves early in the round to keep things together but I definitely wasn't feeling as well as I did on Thursday.
In addition to that, it was an extremely difficult day on the course. The pins were in some very tough spots and with the wind, it made for a punishing round. Augusta National is tough enough to play when you are firing on all cylinders but when you come in as I did with a bit of an injury, it can be next to impossible. With my rib injury, I could only swing at about 80 per cent and that meant that while I was hitting it in the fairway, I was a long way back, especially today when the wind was in our faces on some of the par 5s. Being that far back made it really tough to try and score out there.
Right now the only thing I know is that I'll probably stay around on the weekend and get this injury worked on here in Augusta. I'm scheduled to play at the RBC Heritage next week, a tournament I really enjoy. But I'll see what the doctor says and then do what's best for getting healthy again. I'm glad I played at Augusta and I don't think my ribs are any worse than they were before I came here.
It was fun to celebrate the 10th anniversary of my win here with lots of friends and family. I was also really happy with the documentary by Kevin Foley that was created and shown on TSN and Global. It brought back a lot of memories for me.
The Masters is and always will be a special tournament for me. I'm already looking forward to next year.
As always, thanks for your support.
